When you need scaffolding for construction and renovation projects on your home, we are here to help. We realise that you may not have used domestic scaffold hire before, so we are happy to talk through what is involved and give advice on your personal requirements. We can, of course, also provide references: we have many happy customers and are proud to say that much of our work is through repeat business and recommendations.
References are available on request, but here’s just one testimonial, from a client in Greater London:
“I had shopped around and found Affix were very competitive. The scaffolders were quick, polite and friendly. I fully recommend the professional team at Affix Scaffolding.”

The most common residential scaffolding jobs we are asked to work on are:
We can put up scaffolding on your house within 24 hours and we’ll take it down and collect it when you tell us you’re ready.
The good news is that if the scaffolding is within the boundaries of your property, you won’t need a permit. If the scaffolding needs to be outside your property, for example on the pavement, then it will need a licence from your local council. The scaffolding company that you hire from is responsible for dealing with this, but you are legally responsible for checking that they’ve done it.
Other than this, basic structures don’t generally need any special permits. Larger or taller buildings may do and will need a full risk assessment before the work starts.
When you hire us for your domestic scaffolding, we will ensure that we have dealt with all the legal requirements for you.
Not necessarily, but it’s well worth considering. Using a ladder to paint the exterior of a house can be difficult and dangerous. If you’ve got a big painting job on a two or three storey house, you can save a lot of time by hiring scaffolding instead. Painting walls from the safety of a scaffold is much more efficient than going up and down a ladder over and over again.
You have a legal right to have scaffolding erected on your neighbour’s property if you need it for essential repairs and renovations and if you give them notice. If the scaffolding is for extensions or other non-essential improvements, you can only do it if you get permission from your neighbour.
If the scaffolding is for a home-owner, the scaffolding contractor is responsible for safety. If the work is part of a business (for example, for a landlord or property developer), then the business owner is responsible. So, if you’re looking for scaffold hire for your own house, you can trust us to manage the health and safety aspects of the job.
Our safety record is something we are extremely proud of. If you choose us for your domestic scaffold hire you can be confident that all our work is professionally undertaken and carefully supervised. Our scaffolders are CITB trained professionals with the knowledge and skills to carry out work to the highest industry standards. They also hold a Construction Industry Record Scheme (CISRS) Card which means they are qualified to put up scaffolding safely.
For your added peace of mind, we have public liability insurance cover of £10 million to cover any safety risks.
Whatever your budget, you don’t need to pay over the odds for home scaffolding. Get several different quotes and choose one that is reasonable as well as from a reputable firm – most likely, you’ll find it’s us!
Remember that scaffolding costs are what you pay for safety – you can’t put a price on that.
Known for our competitive prices, we frequently come out best on price and service. In fact, many of our residential and commercial customers return to us regularly.
